Taldan Wants to be a mage.

Taldan sat down, and then stood right back up. He cleared his throat and began. For the next few hours he talked like he hadn’t spoken to anyone in years. Reminiscing about the high elves, and arcane magic. He told me about his secret wish to openly practice magic again. Stating adamantly that he understands the dangers, and knows why they’ve banned it “but still…” He told me how he knew of small groups of Night elves scattered across Azeroth in hiding because they feared the repercussions of their choice to continue the practice. I started to get the feeling he wished he could join them. When I expressed this to him, he vehemently denied it citing only job security as a reason, not that he would EVER practice the arcane arts. Pshaw! Job security my big toe!

He rambled on for a while longer, completely avoiding the whole tutu question. Finally I had to stop him. After all I had Rabid bears to vanquish and Artifacts to gather.. and some weird blue light to investigate. That was the beginning of a great friendship whenever I was in town I would stop and we'd exchange stories. Then busy season came, and it seemed like he was always buying someone's things or "with a customer". So I left Taldan for a little while and went on adventuring. It was several weeks before I realized I hadn't talked to him. I'd sold him some junk and bought some water from him, but all in a hurry with no real opportunity for conversation. I'd been swept off to the Eastern Kingdoms, and was now Rank 58. I was in the middle of Blackrock Depths pondering the location of the flame keepers when he crossed my mind. Right then I decided I'd make a special trip back to Auberdine just to see my sweet Taldan... whoa, what did I just call him...

I've been busy being a hero and all....

So, it's been a while. sorry. Yes, I've been out slaying kings, calling stars, and obtaining awesome Frostbrood type mounts. But, the tale of Taldans' tutu is no less important. Really this is the tale of Taldan, but it all started with that tutu.

So, where did I leave off... oh yes, Taldan was not talking about the Tutu.

I ended up back in Auberdine several times over the next week or so. Every time I needed to get rid of the junk in my bag I would go to Taldan. At first he was stubborn. Refusing to answer my questions. Just giving me the standard greetings. But I eventually wore him down!

One day I was selling him some Murloc eyes, when he sneezed! " I KNEW IT!" I said, "you CAN do more than just say hi and bye and give me money for my junk!" he grimaced and regained his composure. He brushed the whole incident off like it never happened. So I kept bringing him Murloc eyes... day after day Eyes and more eyes, and every time he'd sneeze.
Still, he resisted. I figured he must be allergic to the stupid man fishes... so I brought an entire Murloc corpse to him one day. That did it. He started yelling at me and running away. "You cursed little mongrel! Why in all of Azeroth would you bring that Wretched thing to me!"
Needless to say, I was shocked. I expected a reaction but not one so extreme! "Why do you wear a tutu?" I asked. "What?!" was his reply, the he begged me to take away the Murloc, promising to answer all of my "inane" questions in return. So I took the Creature up to Gwennyth Bly'Leggonde, she'd been asking me for beached sea creatures for a while, but apparently this didn't count. So... I threw it over the edge of the flight path platform and was done with it.

When I came back he was ready to talk.
